doesn't it look serious? i think the concept of the site is pretty funny in multiple ways. one of which being that genuinely using the site as a means of finding your band name indicates an odd lack of creativity...not a particularly good sign for the success of said band.
as far as morland, kansas: the site is not named after that town. although, i find it very endearing to discover that there is a morland in kansas, since we share the same abbreviation. it seems fitting.
yes, if one were to acknowledge openly that one's band name came from this source, one would undermine oneself and one's band. two. I mean, too.
I have just noticed that 'luminary of the moaning' has no actual reference to the word 'morland' in it.
I would still like an answer to the question I posted to your other post, below, namely: you asked people to leave music files for you (I must have dropped about 5 yesterday); how do they know if you have heard them, and / or what you think of them, if anything?
these are very good logistical questions that i have to admit i haven't thought through yet. i'm still thinking about how i can give feedback on the files that are dropped to me to those that drop them in a way that would make sense. especially since i won't know who dropped them (although in your case i do know since you told me). i was thinking perhaps a post every once and awhile after i've had a chance to listen to the files sent...but that might be strange since others can't listen in on what people are dropping as well so such posts would be pretty one-sided. unless i could find the music file in question online somewhere else....perhaps the answer would be to open the drop to everyone.
so, as you can see, i'm still working through the best way to handle it. i'll have to get back to you about it. as for the files you dropped yesterday, i'm listening to them as i type. let me absorb and i'll think of a way to get back to you about it.
